Vinyasa System
Vinyasa is a system of breathing and movement. The body produces
heat, it increases its temperatures, the muscles and internal
organs detoxify, circulation and digestion improves, the body
becomes lighter, stronger and more flexible, the mind more relaxed
and decisive. In this system, every movement is accompanied by one
breath.
Ujjai Pranayama
Ujjai is a special breathing technique. It is a method which gives
you control and access to Prana (universal life energy). Owing to
ujjai, the body increases its temperature, circulation in and
aeration of the body improves, the body detoxifies and gets rid of
excess fat. Ujjai helps to focus our mind on the present.
Practising difficult yoga sequences may seem to be the result of
enormous muscle endurance; however, the muscles are strong owing to
the ujjai pranayama.
Bandha
These are very gentle techniques, partially achievable through
physical activity but mainly through concentration. There are
several different Bandhas. The Mula Bandha, Uddiyana Bandha and the
Jalandara Bandha are the most important for the Ashtanga Vinyasa
Yoga
Drishti
Drishti is a place of concentration or focus. We do not look at an
external object, we focus more internally.
